JOB: PEIMS COORDINATOR
A PEIMS Coordinator is responsible for collecting, verifying, and submitting accurate student and staff data to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) according to state standards. Key duties include coordinating data collection with school staff, running error checks and audits, ensuring all data is complete and timely, providing training on data systems, and submitting final reports to the TEA.
Core responsibilities:
- Data management: Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submissions, such as student demographics, enrollment, attendance, and staff information.
- Data accuracy and compliance: Run verification and error-checking routines, audit data, and resolve discrepancies to ensure submissions are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Submission and reporting: Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) through the prescribed format and within the required deadlines.
- Staff training and support: Provide training and support to campus staff, (Secretaries), on data entry and reporting procedures and Student Information Systems (SIS).
- Liaison and communication: Act as a liaison between school districts, campus staff, and the TEA, and respond to data-related inquiries.
- Key skills and qualifications
- Proficiency with student information systems (SIS) AERIES and management software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various staff members.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex state and federal regulations and coding requirements.
- Experience with data collection, auditing, and reporting is beneficial for this position.
